Recording Session
8-28-05: Way Too Much
Clyde Lucas - drums
John Yonosh - Bass
"Way Too Much" first appeared on the Gandy Dancers CD. I was really digging into the Keith Richards Talk is Cheap CD and came up with the riff. We never played it out much. But, John Yonosh kept asking me over the years to hit that song again. So, the night before the session, John brought it to my attention by saying, "Man, we have Clyde jamming with us! We should play the song with him. Let's give it a shot." So, we did. John Yonosh steams the ship in the right direction yet again! We had great fun hitting that song. Clyde put a nice driving groove behind it that gave us all a new perspective on the song. I guess that song needed eight years to come of age in my soul. We hit the song about ten times. It took shape over the course of the takes. By the time we hit the last take, the song was on fire. We hit the last take so hard that there were pools of sweat where players once stood.
